The listed strip widths cater for all cores in the standard range. Toroidal cores can be supplied in strip widths outside the listed sizes but a surcharge may be applicable.
Grain Oriented Silicon Steel (GOSS/CRGO The cold rolled grain oriented steel used in the production of Airlink Transformers toroidal cores consists of 3% silicon-iron alloy. Manufactured with a grain orientation facilitates very low power loss ideal for high efficiency transformers. 1.Up to 30% more flux for the same magnetising force 2.Increased rating for a given size of transformer. 3.Better regulation. 4.Reduction in size and weight 5.Reduced assembly time, storage and handling costs.
Limits of Tolerance Inside diameter +-0.8mm Outside diameter +-0.8mm up to 150mm +-1.2mm up to 230mm Height -0+0.8mm for cores up to 60mm. -0+1.2mm for cores over 65mm
Calculation of toroidal core weight Nominal finish weight of toroidal core = 3.182/4x7.65x0.95x0.000001xHtx(Od+id)xOd-id)
Od = Outside diameter id = Inside diameter Ht = Strip width
Performance Guarantee Non-Impregnated toroidal cores are normally offered with the following standard guarantee 0.3mm Grade M4 50Hz 1.0 Tesla limit: 19.0 A/M
Magnetic Degradation Occurs when toroidal cores are impregnated with varnish or epoxy coated. Light impregnated varnish +15% Epoxy coated +40%
Company Profile Airlink Cores in Harlow Essex, Has over twenty five years experience in the development and manufacture of toroidal cores. Modern production techniques have enabled us to produce a high quality product at very competitive prices. Exporting all over the world. Peter Harris, the managing director has been involved in the industry since 1980 and has built a strong team at Airlink to serve the varying and individual requirements of customers. The result is that the products of Airlink Cores meet the toughest of customer specifications. Committed to innovation. Airlink recently spent £250,000 to upgrade its fully automated toroidal core line and Annealing furnace in order to gain greater productivity and to enhance product quality. We only use the latest high permeability grain oriented electrical steel provide by Orb Electrical Steel in South Wales. We occupy 7000sq ft of modern factory space and employ a workforce of over twenty-five. Quality Assurance Our quality assurance system monitors each stage of the manufacturing process to ensure that the customers and standards are met. All core meet IEC404, EN10107/EN10106 and BS6404 standards. Selection of magnetic steel by electrical and mechanical qualities to ensure suitability for the particular strip wound core to be used 2.Electrical test and checks for the correct dimensions following the heat treatment cycle to ensure that the cores have been wound correctly and that the heat treatment conditions have been satisfactory. 3.It is normal practice to inspect cores on a 100% basis after final processing. This ensures that the dimensions are correct and the electrical specifications limits have been adhered to. 4.The inspection department organisation monitors the despatch packing methods to ensure that the product arrives at the user in good condition.
