The WP Range can be buried in the ground adjacent to ponds, swimming pools, decking, driveways and patios.

The TG Range of transformers are for wall or surface mounting only. Indoors these transformers are suitable in bathroom, steam rooms and kitchens.

The transformer must not be permanently submersed in water.

TECHNICAL DETAILS

All transformers are supplied with screw terminal for the input and low voltage output.
The input cable is 1mm twin flexible cable type H05 RNF sheathed.
The transformers output H05 RNF sheathed cables vary in conductor size according to the total power of the transformer and should not be extended beyond the lengths recommended below. Multiple lamp connections are made via a weatherproof splitter box.
The maximum length of output cable is 2 Meters from the transformer.

IP Rating System (“Ingress Protection” code)

Is the standard relating to the performance of enclosures in resisting the ingress of water and foreign objects.

BS EN 60529:1992 Specification for degrees of protection provided by enclosures (IP code).

Following the IP tag are two numbers. Eg: IP68

The first relates to the protection offered by the enclosure to solid objects and dust.

0 - Non-protected
1 - Protected against solid foreign objects of 50 mm diameter and greater
2 - Protected against solid foreign objects of 12.5 mm diameter and greater
3 - Protected against solid foreign objects of 2.5 mm diameter and greater
4 - Protected against solid foreign objects of 1.0 mm diameter and greater
5 - Dust-protected
6 - Dust-tight

The second number indicates the protective qualities of the enclosure to the ingress of water.

0 - Non-protected
1 - Protected against vertically falling water drops
2 - Protected against vertically falling water drops as the enclosure is tilted 15 degrees
3 - Protected against spraying water
4 - Protected against splashing water
5 - Protected against water jetting
6 - Protected against powerful water jetting
7 - Protected against temporary immersion
8 - Protected against continuous immersion

So our transformer enclosure rated to IP68 has the highest level of protection ie. 6 - Dust-tight and 8 - Protected against continuous immersion.
